What is LAFF’s Photography Contest / ¿Qué es el Concurso de Fotografía de LAFF?
It is a three-week long competition that highlights the international reach and impact of the art of photography. With a theme of “Travel,” photographs can include landscapes, transportation, cultural events, animals in their natural habitats, people, and more. Each photograph submitted requires a fee of £5 ($6.50 / S/.24 / €6.00) to be considered. The top three photographs will be displayed in public here in Cusco, Peru!
Es un concurso de tres semanas de duración que destaca el alcance internacional y el impacto del arte de la fotografía. Con el tema “Viaje”, las fotografías pueden incluir paisajes, transporte, eventos culturales, animales en sus hábitats naturales, personas y mucho más. Cada fotografía enviada requiere una tarifa de £5 ($6,50 / S/.24 / €6,00) para ingresar al concurso. ¡Las tres mejores fotografías serán expuestas aquí en Cusco, Perú!
When is the Competition? / ¿Cuándo es el Concurso?
LAFF’s Photography Competitions will run between the 25th of November & 15th of December 2024.

Who is judging the Competition? / ¿Quién está juzgando el Concurso?
In addition to both LAFF’s Fundraising and Event & Campaign Coordinators, the lead judge will be professional photographer Gustavo Vivanco whose work has been displayed from Milan to Dubai to Peru.
Además de los Coordinadores de Campañas y Eventos y Recaudación de Fondos de LAFF, el juez principal será el fotógrafo profesional Gustavo Vivanco cuyo trabajo se ha expuesto desde Milán hasta Dubai y Perú.
What is the prize? / ¿Qué es el premio?
The top three photographs will have the honor of being displayed at one of Cusco’s most popular cafes: Cappuccino Cafe; in addition, the first-place photograph will get a 1-year magazine subscription to National Geographic!
Las tres mejores fotografías tendrán el honor de estar exhibido en uno de los cafés más populares de Cusco: Cappuccino Cafe; además, ¡el primer lugar obtendrá una suscripción de revista por 1 año al National Geographic!
Where does the Entrance Fee go? / ¿A dónde va la Tarifa de Entrada?
All proceeds go to support LAFF’s mission to support to ensure equitable access to education and professional development for over 100 Indigenous children and young adults in the Cusco region, particularly in rural areas. Your fee will go to directly support our 3 local partner organizations (Casa Mantay, Sacred Valley Project and Mosqoy). Before submitting your entrance photo, you can pay your entrance fee here. Additionally, if you would like to further support LAFF’s mission, for just £15 a month, you can cover the education costs for one child.
Todos los ingresos seran destinados a apoyar la misión de LAFF de apoyar el acceso equitativo a educación y desarrollo profesional para más de 100 niños y jóvenes indígenas de zonas rurarles en la región de Cusco. Su colaboración se destinará directamente a apoyar nuestras tres organizaciones socias locales (Casa Mantay, Sacred Valley Project y Mosqoy). Antes de entregar tu fotografía, puedes pagar la tarifa de entrada aquí. Además, si deseas seguir apoyando la misión de LAFF, por sólo £15 al mes, puedes cubrir los costos de educación de un niño.

What type of photos should I submit? / ¿Qué tipo de fotografías debo entregar?
With a theme of “Travel” photographs can include a wide range including but not limited to landscapes, animals, transportation, cultural events, natural phenomena, people, historic sites and more. The aim of the competition is to highlight all corners of the globe and how photography allows people to share their special moments with others; therefore, almost all photos will be considered. The photos will be judged on criteria including but not limited to: technical quality, composition, creativity, focus, relevance to theme, lighting and originality.
Con un tema de “Viajes”, las fotografías pueden incluir una amplia gama que incluye, entre otros, paisajes, animales, transporte, eventos culturales, fenómenos naturales, personas, sitios históricos y más. El objetivo del concurso es mostrar todos los rincones del mundo y cómo la fotografía permite a las personas compartir sus momentos especiales con los demás; por lo tanto, se considerarán casi todas las fotografías. Las fotografías se evaluarán según criterios que incluyen, entre otros: calidad técnica, composición, creatividad, enfoque, relevancia para el tema, iluminación y originalidad.
Can I submit more than one photo? / ¿Puedo entrar más de una fotografía?
Absolutely! All entrants are encouraged to submit as many photos as they would like; however, to be considered each entrance must pay the £2 / $2.50 / S/.10 / €2.40 for each photo.

Can I donate more than £5? / ¿Puedo donar más de £5?
Of course! The minimum entrance fee for each photo is £5 ($6.50 / S/.24 / €6.00); however, all donations are more than welcome. Every cent goes a long way to support our beneficiaries.

When are the winners announced? / ¿Cuando se anuncia los ganadores?
The winners will be announced the week of December 16th with the top three photos being displayed beginning December 21.
