Vodafone Foundation World of Difference winner Dilini de Silva takes on a two month placement for LAFF, kick-starting our Schools Project to bring development education around street children issues to the classroom. Read her blog here

Volunteers Emily Mathewson and Charlie Cripps host a celidh-themed fundraiser for LAFF in memory of Hannah Barrett, bringing in £2,839 for projects in Peru. Thanks to all who supported by attending or donating prizes!

Fran Talavera will be making a World of Difference for LAFF thanks to the Vodafone Foundation. 

Vodafone helping LAFF via their World of Difference initiativeVodafone Foundation's World of Difference initiative annouced Fran was one of 8 people selected to work for a charity of their choice for one year providing a salary and related support. Fran was chosen from thousands of applicants and won on her merit through a public competition. Fran will start working for LAFF in September this year and will become a Project Coordinator based in Peru. Read her blog here.

LAFF send solar showers over to Azul Wasi offering more inviting washing facilities for all the boys and reducing the energy consumption of Azul Wasi.

Sarah concludes her Vodaphone World of Difference placement having completed two months full time work for LAFF. Thank you to Sarah for all your hard work advancing the goals of LAFF during this time and to Vodaphone for providing the financial assistance and training to make it possible.

May 2010

Guinea pig farm built and stocked with guinea pigs. The farm will help Azul Wasi become self sufficient by generating income from local markets. LAFF will also fund vocational training on animal husbandry to ensure the long term sustanability of the farm and provide pratical education to the boys of Azul Wasi.

Congratulations to Bautista, Edwin and Vigante who have been selected as the top 3 students in their school. Also to, Neptali and Dante have been selected to represent their school football team!

LAFF supporters have completed their Channel Swim - raising over £10,000 in sponsorship for Azul Wasi Children’s Home. The crazy team of 6 reached France in an amazing 13 hours, 17 minutes and 10 seconds. Well done Team 'Are you having a LAFF?!'
